Dinner, school, lunch, run, sleep ....

I finaly started to get some rutines in my everday life... Nice, now I have some places where I can go without thinking so much:)

I actual thought that i started to understand the chinese people. Usual they are very nice to you as long that you are paying. Usual its not a problem, because like a foreigner you usual have money. But what happened if you bought a cellphone and it breaks, and you want them to repair it ? Well, if you pay them its not a problem, but as soon as you expect them to repair it for free because it actual a bad phone, what happened then?
Well nothing, you get nothing…
This was my opinion about Chinese… but shit.. then today I went to buy me a juice (fresh made.. mmmmm) and because im like the only foreigner who seems to buy there they actual gave (for free!!!) me a new kind of tea, yummy. So now I don’t know anymore, I should go back to my first opinion about Chinese, they are like girls, you cant understand them : )

For notice is my phone working again, whats going on with me, china and cellphones, they just dont want to work togheter.

Friday and Saturday there are going to be two Halloween partys, so i expect to bring up some nice photos :)

Bike tour !

Long time and no blogging, but mayby that just because after Yun nan the life here seems to be very ordinary. But actual its not, this weekend was great. A Friday with dinner and just relaxing after a loooooong schoolweek we where a bunch of guys that got together for have a bicycle tour around the island. We gathered at 9 in the morning and started to buy stuff for the tour, lot of fruit and of course beer.

We had a geniuse idea of getting ice from McDonalds and brought some buckets so we could have cold beer for the hole trip. It worked very well, and its nice to drive those four bicycles that looks like a car. Then you actual don’t have to worry about losing you´re balance. After the tour wich lasted about 8 hours we went for food. Well I have to admit that we didn’t make it around the island, but I think it was because the equipment wasn’t the best and we (read me : ) ) priority to drink beer and just enjoying the views. We went to some nice beaches and also had a great time. Some of our crew went tired after been out and drinking all day so they went home after dinner, but four of us joined the French guys (actual it was Jeremy and Virginity) to go to 123 bar. Because of Virginity, Liselot and Alaid is working there (sitting and drinking and just pretend they have fun) we got free drinks. AWSOME! I was also quite tired but we stayed a bit after 01.30 and then went home.

Yesterday I bought some running shoes, I hope they not will be fake and that I can use them when running the marathon. I don’t know if I wrote it before but in about 76 days there is a big marathon here in Xiamen, and I hope to be able to run it, almost 43 km, I also hope that I will be in a okay shape. So its time to start running for sure now!

Ohh, his back, his the man behind the...

Back to ordinary life now (more or less), and the school started with class on Friday and Saturday. Now you wonder why we had class on Saturday, but actual its not so strange (for be China), because of the holiday we missed some classes and have to catch up… Well yeah its strange, you get free days from school but you have to work on weekends.. so not so free actual

But its nice to be back, Friday Diedrek came back from Taiwan and he what he told me its much better then China. Like all the bad things about China (like pollutions, girls wearing pyamas on street, and sneakers with suites…) its not existing in Taiwan. Actual they are somewhat more civilizes then Chinese. It still was much more expensive but not so bad, only that he said that the beer where expensive. But he also said that the coffee was cheaper and that you actual could find good bread with cheese and that all together it means that the breakfast problem is solved. Nice, nice ! I also meet a guy who tipsed me about a Swedish company that he worked for that was on Taipei…

Well nice to be back. Saturday also was quite nice, I came up with the idea of filling a bucket with ice and put beer into it. Said and done me and Diederik did this and brought the bucket to the beach party, cheap beer and really coold :).

I also putting up some more photos from my treeking days, but this time its not mine, so now there actual is photos of me..

Fight Fight! And Dali

After been a short time in Shangri-la I finaly made it to Dali. When I arrived I made a mistake thinking that I was in old Dali, which according to my note I wouldn’t be. But after I realizeld that the old city was too new to be called old Dali I grabbed a taxi. Here I meet in my opinion the most stupid taxidriver. When I told him where I wanted to go he said that he wanted 40 kui, which can sound little but its quite lot here (haircut, lunch, dinner and lots of bear). About the taxi driver, when he was driving he would turn of the ignition when it was downhill. Many things that is hard to describe made quite angry at him, he also wanted to have pay to get back, because it was so far he said. 15 km is not so far, and when you can get about 20 km for about 15 kui you realize how overprized he was. He also refused to drive on taximeter. Well, when I knew where we where I said to him to drop me of (he did not knew even when he had talked with the people at the hostel), I grabed my bag and got out of the cab. I paid him half of the demanded sum, even if that was overprized I really did not feel to pay the way back when he was such a bad driver. I can also say that the Chinese taxidriver get paid even if they not drive. So all this money he got he just put in his own pocket….hate people that not are honest…

Dali is nice, nice place for hanging out and just chilling. Met two guys from England and we decided to go to the lake, ended up in a unforgettable drive whit the smallest bikes you can ride : ) Through a big ricefield and a dirty part of the city we finaly made it to the lake.

Yesterday I spent walking around and looking at souvenirs, although I don’t buy anything, just because its so much shit and I don’t like the idea if carry it for some more days… In the evening we all guys went out for some beer and barbecue, it was awesome, but the best thing was that we meet a bunch of Chinese girls that didn’t speak much English. I was the only one that knewed a little Chinese so I could show of a little… ok, mayby not but I did practice my Chinese : )

When I woke up today I decided to rest in my bed so long as I could, which means to about 11.00. And I also got some entertainment over my morning coffee. Two guys (one elder American and a other strange guy) had a big quarrel. The strange guy where accusing the American to kill civilian, and the amercian told him that he was a : bitch, insane, stupid, tiny, littly…. Well a lot of things, but actual it was quite strange to see two guys in that age behaving more like five years.. Although the American had right, he was just sitting there and the other guy just jumped on him.. well after about 40 minutes of shouting and so on the show ended up that the wiser guy (American) walked away, and my coffee was empty so the fun was over …

Well today I heading to Kunming, just for passing it and sleep there so I don’t miss my flight to Shenzhen.. visiting Henry for a day and then get back to University and reality (although it does not feel as been in China is reality ..)

3 days treeking, no shower and nice views :)

Now I have been to a very remote part of Yunnan province (actual quite remote in China if you only counting provincences we are allowed to go to). I went to a small village called Yunbencun, who is a tibetan village that nowdays almost provide themselves on tourist, but what I understood it just the last 5-10 years they have done that. The people can be the nicest people I meet, they actual helped you without thinking of taking money from you. I went there with a couple which I meet on my hostel in Feiling temple. They are very nice and its really easy to travel with them because they are very good to arrange things, actual it’s the first time I go and travel (except my perents) when I not have to think by myself so much. They are also really nice so there are two big benefits of this, well three if you count that they are better on Chinese then me, not so strange if they are from china….

To go to this village we first had to rent a car and go up and down for about a hour, and after that we had a 8 hour walk (usual it take about 5-6 but we were not in a hurry). I had been worried about that the hight would do that my condition would be our limit. But it was not! Actual I think I never got tired of our hole journey, well little but not that much. After walking we arrived at lower Yubencun and stayed there for a night. The views from the “balcony” was awesome, I spend over a hour just looking at it. There is some picture of it, it’s the ones where you have a lake and some small buildings and a mountain in the background.

Picture until lower Yubencun

After sleeping we wake up quite early to have breakfast and start walking to the “secret” waterfall, well it was not so secret because all people went there. But the views where quite nice, although I was a bit disappointed, so I walked faster and went on a detour, and went home hour earlier to sleep. The thing of the waterfall is some religious things, the people here have a own language and its not similar to anything else, all the small flags with different colors with text on it has the meaning of that the wind will carry the language away and everybody will now about it. So the locals go up there and running around the waterfall for good luck and healthy life and balbablabablba……

The second night we stayed at upper Yubencun, and it was even nicer than the lower. Here I also had my first real Chinese shit. Its when you sitting on you’re heels and shiting without holding in anything. I also had fried rice and egg to breakfast (I don’t like it but what the hell, I have to learn if im not going to be ruined(the bread and cheese is not a option, because its so expensive)). We also had a real hot pot, there are some picture of a fire and some food, awesome!

Waterfall and UpperYubencun

So after have spent two night I was´nt satisfield of the views, we had a long discussion about hurry to Shangri-la so I could make it to Tiger leaping Gorge, but when I heard about a dangerous longer road back I thought what the hell, I take that one instead. And after that Lee (Lee and Karry are the couple) had worried about my shoes and that it would be too dangerous (the Chinese are very caring, at the waterfall one guy said to me that I should be carefull about my cold, its very dangerous to have a cold…….. just coughing a little is NOT SO DANGEROUSE) . But after talking a little we agreed to go.

We started quite late because we did´nt want to hurry this because some parts are actual dangerous For real, some places you had only 10 cm to walk at, one side it was a trench with 20 cm of icecold water and the other side it was a cliff and about 100- 200 meter straight down… This part was about 5km and our guide forbid me to take any pictures, this because he wanted us to be focus on the walking. But I found a way so he accepted that I took picture, I sat down and when I was using my camera. Although I did not take as much picture as I would like because of the risk.. I also have Lees pictures so I have some cool shots… About cool shots, there where two guys that died last year because they wanted to take some cool shots, and they fell in the river. They actual fell into the river at one of the safest places, just of lacking of respect of the nature…
Dangerous walk

And after the Dangerous walk our guide left us for the safe road back. But what he did not mention was that the road where same… so not so safe… And talking about the road back… with the car.. lucky that I was so blunted (swe = avtrubbad ) that I did not cared…
Not dangerous
Also some pictures from Deqin (the city you just passing to go to Feilai temple or Yubencun) and the road back to Shangri-la.
Safe road back
