3 days treeking, no shower and nice views :)

Now I have been to a very remote part of Yunnan province (actual quite remote in China if you only counting provincences we are allowed to go to). I went to a small village called Yunbencun, who is a tibetan village that nowdays almost provide themselves on tourist, but what I understood it just the last 5-10 years they have done that. The people can be the nicest people I meet, they actual helped you without thinking of taking money from you. I went there with a couple which I meet on my hostel in Feiling temple. They are very nice and its really easy to travel with them because they are very good to arrange things, actual it’s the first time I go and travel (except my perents) when I not have to think by myself so much. They are also really nice so there are two big benefits of this, well three if you count that they are better on Chinese then me, not so strange if they are from china….

To go to this village we first had to rent a car and go up and down for about a hour, and after that we had a 8 hour walk (usual it take about 5-6 but we were not in a hurry). I had been worried about that the hight would do that my condition would be our limit. But it was not! Actual I think I never got tired of our hole journey, well little but not that much. After walking we arrived at lower Yubencun and stayed there for a night. The views from the “balcony” was awesome, I spend over a hour just looking at it. There is some picture of it, it’s the ones where you have a lake and some small buildings and a mountain in the background.

Picture until lower Yubencun

After sleeping we wake up quite early to have breakfast and start walking to the “secret” waterfall, well it was not so secret because all people went there. But the views where quite nice, although I was a bit disappointed, so I walked faster and went on a detour, and went home hour earlier to sleep. The thing of the waterfall is some religious things, the people here have a own language and its not similar to anything else, all the small flags with different colors with text on it has the meaning of that the wind will carry the language away and everybody will now about it. So the locals go up there and running around the waterfall for good luck and healthy life and balbablabablba……

The second night we stayed at upper Yubencun, and it was even nicer than the lower. Here I also had my first real Chinese shit. Its when you sitting on you’re heels and shiting without holding in anything. I also had fried rice and egg to breakfast (I don’t like it but what the hell, I have to learn if im not going to be ruined(the bread and cheese is not a option, because its so expensive)). We also had a real hot pot, there are some picture of a fire and some food, awesome!

Waterfall and UpperYubencun

So after have spent two night I was´nt satisfield of the views, we had a long discussion about hurry to Shangri-la so I could make it to Tiger leaping Gorge, but when I heard about a dangerous longer road back I thought what the hell, I take that one instead. And after that Lee (Lee and Karry are the couple) had worried about my shoes and that it would be too dangerous (the Chinese are very caring, at the waterfall one guy said to me that I should be carefull about my cold, its very dangerous to have a cold…….. just coughing a little is NOT SO DANGEROUSE) . But after talking a little we agreed to go.

We started quite late because we did´nt want to hurry this because some parts are actual dangerous For real, some places you had only 10 cm to walk at, one side it was a trench with 20 cm of icecold water and the other side it was a cliff and about 100- 200 meter straight down… This part was about 5km and our guide forbid me to take any pictures, this because he wanted us to be focus on the walking. But I found a way so he accepted that I took picture, I sat down and when I was using my camera. Although I did not take as much picture as I would like because of the risk.. I also have Lees pictures so I have some cool shots… About cool shots, there where two guys that died last year because they wanted to take some cool shots, and they fell in the river. They actual fell into the river at one of the safest places, just of lacking of respect of the nature…
Dangerous walk

And after the Dangerous walk our guide left us for the safe road back. But what he did not mention was that the road where same… so not so safe… And talking about the road back… with the car.. lucky that I was so blunted (swe = avtrubbad ) that I did not cared…
Not dangerous
Also some pictures from Deqin (the city you just passing to go to Feilai temple or Yubencun) and the road back to Shangri-la.
Safe road back
